Dr. Pierre Pluye received the NAGS Doctoral Teaching Award

On April 9, 2021, Dr. Pierre Pluye, Professor at the Department of Family Medicine of McGill University, received the  NAGS Doctoral Teaching Award . This award recognizes excellence and creativity in teaching doctoral students (in all scientific disciplines across Canada and the United States), as well as innovation in the development and implementation of graduate programs. The Northeastern Association of Graduate Schools (NAGS) recognized his groundbreaking teaching of mixed-methods research and mixed-methods journals at McGill University, both nationally and internationally.

This peer recognition shows the capacities of the Unit to scale up innovative Quebec expertise.

Mixed methods are part of the 2015–2020 Unité de soutien SRAP du Québec business plan, among the innovations developed and implemented by the Methodological Developments component. Among its other accomplishments, the Unit has helped in mixed-method training in Quebec, and was part of the first multidisciplinary, international, joint publication in French, on mixed methods in social sciences and health sciences.
