In Canada, and particularly in Quebec, French is the language of work for many clinicians, but very few scientifically validated questionnaires exist in French to measure their well-being at work. This was confirmed by a recent systematic literature review conducted by our team and funded by the Unité de soutien SSA Québec (Audet et al., 2025).
The well-being of healthcare providers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, physical therapists, etc.) is essential to providing quality care and supporting patients’ health. In fact, it is one of the five key objectives for a high-quality health care system (Bodenheimer & Sinsky, 2014; Nundy et al., 2022).
However, without appropriate and validated tools, it is difficult to understand the factors that influence well-being and to implement effective interventions.

Why use this resource?
The questionnaires, which have undergone cross-cultural adaptation, provide insight into workplace well-being and help identify actions that can improve the quality of life for French-speaking clinicians in Canada.
How do surveys work?
- Questionnaires are used to measure various factors associated with well-being: self-efficacy, interprofessional collaboration, work environment, commitment, satisfaction, intrinsic motivation, coping strategies, self-care, burnout, empathy, and safety culture.
- They can be used for both scientific research and practical assessment in healthcare settings to identify needs, plan actions, and improve working conditions.
- The questionnaires presented in this document are freely available, provided the source is properly cited:

- We invite anyone using one or more of the French adaptations of the questionnaires on clinicians’ well-being to share their thoughts with us (e.g., suggestions, validation initiatives, etc.), so that we can collectively improve the quality of well-being measurement for clinicians.
