Catherine Wilhelmy, patient partner and codirector of the Scientific Direction of the Unité de soutien SSA Québec and coleader of the Expériences community, which brings together over a hundred Québec patient partners, is one of the members of the transition committee with the important mandate of “Preparing for the merger” of Santé Québec.

The entire community rallies to salute her incredible dedication and inspiring leadership. For the past five years, Catherine has been involved in every aspect of patient partnership. She spares no effort and gives of her time, without counting the hours, whether it’s to talk about patient partnerships, or to promote the importance of co-construction and collaboration in different healthcare environments. She knows how to talk, convince, debate and win over many hearts. Often, as she puts it so well, it’s by winning over one person at a time that we transform mentalities.

Starting in January 2024, the transition committee will have one year to support the team leading Santé Québec towards deployment. Its mission will also be to draw up a transition plan to be implemented over the next few years. The committee’s mandate will end in April 2025, when the plan will be submitted to the Minister of Health and Social Services.
